Iva Jovanović won first prize at the Nikolai Rubinstein International Competition for Young Pianists in Paris at the age of nine. Since then she has won numerous prizes, including first prize at the Zlatko Grgošević Piano Competition in Zagreb in 2008. Furthermore, she was a multiple winner of national competitions in various categories, such as piano solo and chamber music.

She completed her diploma studies at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Cologne with 
Prof.Dr.h.c. Arbo Valdma and Prof. Pavel Gililov. She then continued her studies 
with the renowned pianist Prof.Hisako Kawamura at the Folkwang Universität der 
University of the Arts in Essen, Germany, in the subject of Professional Performance and successfully Master's degree successfully.

Jovanović is a three-time scholarship recipient of the Werner Richard - Dr. Carl Dörken Foundation. First in 2011 in the category of piano solo, in 2016 as a duo, with violist Anna Wünsch and in 2019 with mezzo-soprano Valerie Eickhoff. In the 2012 / 2013 season she received the award to participate in the concert cycle Best of NRW. Noticed by the great successes of this series, WDR3 recorded one of the concerts of the young artist.

Through intensive collaboration with important professors and musicians, such as Dirk Mommertz, Bernd Götzke, Paul Badura-Skoda, Robert McDonald, Xandi van Dijk, Zoran Todorovich and Josef Protschka, she received valuable impulses that significantly inspired her and are reflected today in her expressive style. Inspired by the dedicated pedagogical activities of her mentors, Iva Jovanović is equally dedicated to music education. She is currently preparing several students for the competition Jugend Musiziert in the piano duo subject.

In spring 2021, Iva Jovanović founded her own music school (IMS International Music School) in Kaarst and works as a piano teacher at the Kreismusikschule in Viersen.
