Team

Our team at the International Music School consists of eleven highly qualified music educators from various countries. With their diverse cultural and professional backgrounds, they enrich our wide-ranging music program – from early childhood music education to instrumental lessons and preparation for university-level music studies.
All our teachers regularly participate in professional development and training to continually enhance their teaching skills and musical expertise.
This makes our school a strong partner and an excellent educational offering in the Düsseldorf area – also in cooperation with childcare providers and other educational institutions

Iva Jovanović-Hoppe is the founder and director of the International Music School, a concert pianist, music educator, and mother of two. Her passion lies equally in music and in teaching children. She is particularly dedicated to early childhood music education and to supporting young musicians throughout their musical journey. Drawing on her extensive experience, she combines the highest artistic standards with a modern, child-centered, and motivating teaching philosophy.
At the age of nine, Iva won first prize at the prestigious Nikolai Rubinstein International Competition for Young Pianists in Paris. This early success was followed by numerous national and international awards, as well as concert performances in Germany and abroad.
She completed her studies at the University of Music and Dance Cologne and the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen, graduating with both a Diploma and a Master’s degree.
As a three-time scholarship recipient of the Werner Richard – Dr. Carl Dörken Foundation, Iva has been recognized repeatedly for her outstanding artistic achievements. During the 2012/2013 concert season, she was selected to perform as part of the Best of NRW concert series, where one of her performances was recorded and broadcast by WDR 3.
Alongside her concert career, she gained valuable experience at the opera houses of Düsseldorf, Krefeld, and Mönchengladbach. Since 2021, she has also been teaching as a music educator at the Viersen District Music School, where she works with children, teenagers, and adults.
In the spring of 2021, Iva founded the International Music School with the vision of creating a place where musical excellence, the joy of learning, and individualized support come together. A particular focus of her work is early childhood music education. Together with her dedicated team of teachers, she develops innovative teaching concepts that combine research-based pedagogy with modern teaching methods and contemporary technology, creating an inspiring learning environment for students of all ages.
